Bottle Shaders

Just some basic bottle shaders for the magic shop. More to come.
I will save it all for one massive update for after Thanksgiving.
I mixed mix a water node into the glass bump to make the glass
look old. Still a WIP.

more tests

This is what happens when care is not used to insure consistency and predictability of shaders across light rigs: Emily ends up with five different complexions, including stoneskin on her left leg. Snazzy... (my mistake)

Quick renders (beauty only, no post) demonstrating how proper shaders hold up under varying lighting schemes. (Shaders shown, esp. those for eyes and hair, are not final.)

New Environments

Here are some new environment concepts for the interior & exterior of the magic shop. The interior is supposed to be very cluttered! It has been decided that many of the books will be replaced with interesting, magical oddities to ground the shop in a more mysterious realm.

The twisted facade of the magic shop reinforces its dissonance with the adjacent architecture. Although once a well-renown magic shop, it is now the ugly, step child of the city, decaying with the passage of time; a mere shell of its former self.

We have SOUND!

Hey Everyone,
I recently contacted the very talented James Sizemore (http://jamessizemore.com/) and asked him if he could lend us his musical gift in our quest for rabbitkadabra. He of course said YES!

But first we must agree on the timing of the new Animatic I just cut. This is for timing purposes only. We can change stuff around still. This is just so we have a defined overall time so that James can write us a score of the proper length.

rigging progress update

Here are a couple of my supremely bad animation tests of the Monstercorn rig (v3), set to a clip of Stephen Colbert for flavor. The rig is 75% complete, still missing blendshapes and a few necessary controllers.

The third iteration of the monstercorn rig is progressing smoothly. This new version features tweaks to the model, new textures, and greatly increased articulation.

Revised Boards

I almost forgot to post these! These are the revised story boards of Rabbitkadabra! I had to get an idea of the key poses for animation, how the camera is gonna be shot by shot, etc. Drawing these stick figure frames had to be done.

Previs time!....

Rabbit in the making

Heeey everywhan. I Just finished modeling Rabbit and Rabbit-doll. I rendered out a turntable to see his mesh under light and to get an overall feel for how he looks (also to test how weights painted out on him)I'm gonna go back and add some minor details to both Rabbit and doll. Now to begin tweaking edge loops, weighting issues, and surprise triangles! Onward!!

The h264 is a bit washed out, here are some super awesome Lambert renders:

Half way there!

This is an ambient occlusion render test of all our colorful characters standing side by side, just to get an idea of whether or not they clash....

Will we make changes?! Oh the suspense! We shall see...

And here we have a few shader tests of the rabbit done by David and I...

That's all, folks.
